Cameroon Sheep
Ovis aries

Here at Banham Zoo
At Banham Zoo, we are proud to be home to two Cameroon sheep. Unlike the woolly-coated sheep we are used to, Cameroon sheep have a wiry fur coat, which helps them cope with the hotter climate of their native Africa.
Our sheep love grazing in their field and often come over to say hello so make sure you stop by! Fortunately, since they are a domesticated breed, they are not endangered.
