Our opening hours change with the seasons.
November - March (excluding school holidays)

Where are you located?
We are at Banham Zoo, Kenninghall Road, Banham NR16 2HE.
What are the different ticket pricing periods?
Ticket prices vary by season (Peak, High Demand, Standard, and Value). Check our online calendar for the best rates.
Can I save money by booking in advance?
Yes! Booking your tickets online before your visit can save you up to 20% compared to on-the-gate prices.
Is there a discount for groups?
Yes, special discounts are available for groups of 16 or more.
Do you offer refunds or reschedules?
Tickets are non-refundable; however, you may be able to reschedule your visit for a small fee if you contact us in advance.

Accessibility & Onsite Facilities
Are all areas accessible for wheelchair users?
Most of the zoo is fully accessible, though some areas have limited access due to natural terrain. These locations are marked on our map, and our team can suggest alternative routes if needed.
Do you offer accessible seating areas?
Yes, accessible seating is available throughout the zoo for visitors who need to rest.
Can I get a zoo map?
Yes, you can download a free version from our website or pick up a printed copy at the entrance (a small donation of £1.00 is appreciated).

Can we reserve a dedicated space for our group?
Yes, private spaces can be arranged for group gatherings or lunches, subject to availability. Please contact us in advance.
Are guided tours available for groups?
Absolutely! We offer guided tours tailored to your group’s interests, whether it’s learning about endangered species or behind-the-scenes insights.
Can group bookings include a meal or catering package?
Yes, catering options (from packed lunches to buffet-style meals) are available for group visits.
Can I book tickets for an event in advance?
Many events require advance booking. Check each event page for details and book online to secure your spot.
Are events included with my membership?
Yes, all events (except for fundraising events) are included with your membership. Some events may require advance booking due to limited capacity.
Do members need to book for events?
Yes, for popular events with limited capacity, advance booking is recommended even for members.
Can I use my Blue Peter badge during special events?
Yes, if the event’s terms and conditions are met, Blue Peter badges are accepted.
Animal Encounters & Experiences
Are the keeper talk times and activities guaranteed?
While we strive for accurate scheduling, keeper talks and activities may change due to operational needs. Please check the information boards on the day of your visit.
What are the opening hours for the walkthrough habitats?
Walkthrough habitats are open during zoo hours, but timings may vary. Check the on-site boards for the most current schedule.
How long do the animal experiences last?
Our animal experiences range from 10 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the activity.
How much do the animal experiences cost?
Prices start at just £15 per person for a 10-minute experience, with variations depending on the encounter.
Do I need to book in advance for animal experiences?
While some experiences allow walk-up bookings, we highly recommend booking in advance during peak times.
What animals will I interact with during the experience?
Each experience features a specific animal. While we aim for interaction, participation depends on the animal’s willingness.
Are the animal experiences safe?
Absolutely. Our trained staff guide every experience to ensure safety and comfort for both visitors and animals.
Education & School Visits
How much time should be allocated for a school visit?
We recommend setting aside at least four hours, especially if you include a Private Teaching Session.
How far in advance should I book a school visit?
To avoid disappointment, please book at least four weeks in advance by contacting schools@zsea.org.
Which entrance should we use for educational visits?
Public, group, and education visitors should use the main entrance, accessible via the kiosks or the shop on quieter days.
Can students use their annual membership pass?
Yes, students can use their annual membership passes. Please inform us of the number when booking, and remind students to bring their cards.
Can students use a Blue Peter badge for school visits?
No, Blue Peter badges are not accepted for educational visits due to BBC terms and conditions.
Can food be pre-ordered for school visits?
Yes, you can pre-order picnic boxes and group meals by emailing schools@zsea.org at least 2 weeks before your visit.
Is there coach and minibus parking available?
Yes, a dedicated coach park is available just outside the zoo with space for up to 10 coaches.

What are your opening hours for dining?
Dining hours vary by season. The Glade is open on weekdays, while the Shacks and Parkside Pizza operate on weekends and public holidays. Check our "What's On Today" page for current information.
Do you cater to dietary restrictions and allergies?
Yes, we offer options for various dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free. Please inform our team of any requirements.
Can I book a table in advance?
Unfortunately, we do not offer table reservations.
Is there an undercover area for packed lunches if it rains?
Yes, an undercover picnic area is available next to the outdoor play area.
