At just 50cm tall, Parma wallabies are the smallest of their family and weigh about the same as your pet cat! While not endangered, they face threats in the wild due to deforestation, habitat fragmentation, and predation from foxes.
Where Do I Live?
Australia
Parma wallabies are found in New South Wales, Australia. They live in dry forests, with thick undergrowth, or in rainforests.
What Do I Eat?
Wallabies are herbivores and are mainly active at night, grazing a variety of short herbs and grasses.
How Do I Breed?
A single young, known as a joey, is born very early in development after only a 35 day pregnancy. It stays in its mothers pouch for around four months before taking its first trip out, but can return to the pouch to sleep and feed for many months.
